Senior National Aquatic Championship: Srihari Nataraj breaks national record twice to win men's 50m backstroke gold

Thiruvananthapuram: Kishore Saidna Shree Hari Natraj, on Thursday, finished his national record twice to win a gold medal in men's 50m backstroke category in two matches of the 72nd Glenmark Senior National Aquatic Championship at the Dr. BR Ambedkar International Aquatic Complex.

Karnataka's boys, ShriHari finished the national record with a time of 26:55 sec in the summer. In the final race, 17-year-old spent his heats at a time of 26.18 seconds to win a gold medal. Madhu PS and Vedant Seth were second and third respectively.
Men's 50-meter freestyle, 2010 Asian Games bronze medal winner, Virdhawal Khade won gold, while Haroon D'Souza and Neil Roy remained second and third respectively.
In the men's 1500 meter freestyle event, the Advait page of Madhya Pradesh created a national record with a time of 15: 42.67 s. Four years ago, the first record of 15: 45.83 by Sajan Prakash was established.
Aryan Makhija, representing SFI, won the silver medal while Bronze went toKushagra Rawat of Delhi.
Sandeep Sejwal of Delhi won the top honor in the 200-meter men's breaststroke program. The 2014 Asian Games bronze medal broke the sweat of clock 2: 15.76 sec. Tamil Nadu's S. Dhanush, who finished second, scored 2: 19.82.
In the women's 4x100 Medley SFI team, Yuga Birnale, Trisha Karakhnis, Kareena Shankar and Kenisha Gupta established the national record while finished with a time of 4: 29.8 s.
In the men's 4x100m medley, Mr.Harari, Likith SP, Avinash Mani, and Rahul M captured quartet of gold. SSCB and Delhi teams won silver and bronze medals respectively.
In the women's 200-meter breaststroke event, Saloni Dalal of Karnataka won gold in the 50-meter breaststroke competition on Wednesday, dropped the national record into a 2: 41.88-second clock. While the police's Richa Mishra improved its own national record, in 2009, women were set up to claim gold in the 400 meter Medley category.
